Quality of life is a term that you might have heard used in various situations where a moral decision is being made. With regard to abortion, this term is used to flippantly negate the tremendous value of the human life when the person is not “fully formed” or is “not like the others.” Of course, this is just Satanic legalism and deception at work with all of its judgment and labels as if there is a standard template for the “right kind” of human. The only people who believe there is a “right kind” of human are racists such as the KKK, the Nazis, and the Aryan Brotherhood. Moreover, I know that we use the term handicapped in our culture, meaning that the person does not have some ability that most people do have. But who is to say that such abilities are optimal for the happiness of any given human being. In Jeremiah 1:5, God is presumably speaking to Jeremiah and tells the prophet that, not only did He form Jeremiah in the womb, but He also gave a special blessing to the prophet, apparently to prepare him for his future mission BEFORE he had even left the warmth of his mother’s womb. This verse tells us that God makes deliberate decisions about our formation and our future lives even while we are inside our mothers.
We need to remember that there is no error in God. He does not make mistakes.
1 John 1:5: “This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.”
Psalm 145:17: “The Lord is righteous in all His ways, gracious in all His works.”
Leviticus 11:44: “For I am the Lord your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy.” (Also Leviticus 11:45, Leviticus 19:2, Leviticus 20:26, Leviticus 21:8, Joshua 24:19, 1 Samuel 2:2, Psalm 99:5, Psalm 99:9, etc., etc.)
Since there is no error in God, then what He forms in the womb is according to His Will. As I heard a former pastor say, "God don't make no junk." Therefore, just because some people have less ability to do certain things than the majority, this does not mean that they have lesser value or that they do not have a full life with joy, happiness, and fulfillment. I know plenty of people who have perfect health and are fully formed with all the abilities and senses that are available in the human genetic pool. Yet these people are so unhappy all the time. It doesn't take much to knock them off their game and make them perfectly miserable. "Happiness" is based on "happenings" as a pastor of mine used to say. What he meant is that most of us think we must have a constant barrage of pleasurable experiences, new toys, and abundance of money in order to have happiness.
But this type of joy is not meaningful. It is superficial, staying only on the surface and not going deeper into the heart and spirit. Moreover, it goes away when the barrage of pleasures and experiences stops. The deeper satisfaction of life comes from living a life that is meaningful in fellowship with God, serving all those around you in loving sacrifice, spending time with the family you love, spending time with God in prayer and meditation on His Word, walking in complete obedience to God, and submitting to His Will and His plans for your life. If you do these things, no matter who you are, what your size, shape, color, financial status, geographic location, or abilities, you will find the deeper satisfaction in life that does not fade with and break down every time something negative happens during your day. You will find the real joy that is based on God, the source of all joy, and finding your joy in Him, you will never be able lose that joy.
Still more on this tomorrow. I pray that you will walk in Peace with the Prince of Peace and that you will fully understand your infinite worth no matter what your abilities are or your circumstances in life.
