God makes many promises in His Word, the Bible, and He ALWAYS delivers on EVERYTHING He promises.  One of the most amazing promises in Malachi 3:10 comes with a challenge to all people.  In this passage, God asks for only one tenth of our material wealth, the first-fruits of our labor, to prove that we put Him first above all things in our lives.  Moreover, He wants to use that money for spiritual work from His House (the Church or Synagogue that you attend).  So that is the very place that He designates for the tithe to be given, although he also expects other giving of your money as you are blessed with wealth, in excess of your needs, since He wants us to be as generous to others with our largess of blessings as God has been to us.  Since money is the most common false god that people turn to in this world, God wants to lead us to a better way, by teaching us through the tithe, this small act of faith in an area of our lives which we consider very important, to trust in Him first for our sustenance and the increase of our wealth.

And when we trust Him by putting Him first in all of our financial matters and concerns, He promises to open up the windows of Heaven to spill out blessings in a tidal wave of grace, so overpowering that we can’t contain or count them all.  They will spill over from our lives into the lives of all those around us.  This is how generously God gives to His children when He wants to bless us, lavishing upon us a cornucopia of blessings that is immeasurable.  He is an Infinitely, Lavishly Loving God, and with His God-sized Agape Love comes an off-the-charts generosity in all things once we put Him first and foremost in our lives.  And believe me, even if you become so overjoyed with the blessings He gives you and you try to give back to God, you will NOT be able to out give God.  The return we get on His grace is always vastly much more that the tiny investment of effort and resources that we put into His work.

God does amazing things once He starts to bless your life, with the overflow of blessings in your life even reaching to all the people around you, changing their lives as well.   It is a fact that, once God starts working in people’s lives, amazing things happen, and they/we turn into amazing people.  I’ve seen it happen.  You’ve seen it happen.  It’s happening in my life, and it’s most likely happening in your own life, even though you might not have noticed for lack of understanding and for limited spiritual perception.  But how amazing can we become with God’s work in our lives?  What is our potential?  And just how far can we go in moving the mountains and breaking down the strongholds in our lives and the lives of those around us?   We are only limited by the greatness of our faith, that power of God built up in us over time through the process of sanctification, which begins at the moment we are saved by Jesus, but which grows ever bigger as we spend time with Him in prayer, meditating on His word, and working out His principles in our lives on a daily basis.

More on this tomorrow.  I pray that you will be given eyes to see the hand of God working in your life and the lives of others all around you.  God is very busy at His work and is into every corner of the world and every nook and cranny of people’s lives, as much as they allow Him, unless they are resistant to His control, too prideful to submit to Him, or are committed to willful sin and are in open rebellion against God’s plan for them.

I'm a retired soldier, having spent 23 years of my life serving our country, actually 30 years when you count the reserve and National Guard time as well.  I believe in servant leaders, following the example of our Lord, and I believe in giving back to the troops once one has attained a certain status or level of success in life.  But I also believe in fighting back against corruption and incompetence wherever you find it if it hurts people.  Our national values were worth dying for.  They are also worth living for.  A man or woman can actually live a life by these principles of humility, service, love, duty, and honor, and have a significant impact on the world around them...if you have the dedication to see it through.
