The struggle between God and Satan has long been portrayed as a monumental struggle between great powers, probably because Satan, in his pride, has encouraged this portrayal.  In his foolish pride, Satan  likes to flatter himself, to think that he really has significant influence on events and that the struggle between him and God is a struggle of equals.  But the power that Satan has is only what Our Amazing God allows this pathetic rebel to have.  This struggle has even been portrayed in culture in ways that encourage the idea that we are always on the very edge of existence, with evil having almost as much strength as the force of good, the yin and the yang.  But if you stop and think about these things, leaning on God’s Wisdom and refusing to allow the lies of Satan to have credence, you will realize that Satan is a created being.  As a created being, how could he possibly ever be close to challenging God?  How could he possibly come even close to being as powerful as the God who created all things from the mere force of His Will.

God’s Creative Power, the power to produce all that we see with the mere force of His Will, is the power over matter and energy.  This is such a tremendous power that we cannot even begin to comprehend it.  I have written on the subject before, but I will reiterate it here for the benefit of all my readers.  You have seen the iconic equation E=MC2 (read "C squared" since the font here won't make a superscript 2).  Einstein devised this formula in order to capture this idea and explain to others the tremendous amount of energy that is bound up in each tiny bit of matter.  It was this profound idea that allowed us to make the atom bombs that exploded over Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War Two.  These great bombs unleashed the tremendous power that is bound up in tiny bits of matter.  It is also this profound idea that allows us to build and operate nuclear power plants that produce tremendous amounts of electricity to power our cities with the smallest bits of radioactive material.  These great modern accomplishments harness a tiny, tiny fraction of the tremendous power that God has.

Remember that it was God Who created all this out of nothing, ex nihilo.  In order to produce all this matter of the visible, physical universe, God had to pack unbelievable amounts of energy into each and every tiny bit of matter, and He did it all in such a short space of time that it is hard for us to even begin to understand this Tremendous Creative Power that He has.  I am in awe of Him every time that I look upon the beauty, the infinite variety, and the complexity of nature.  When I consider the wonder of His Works, my mind and imagination always fail in trying to understand His Greatness.  When I consider the vast expanse of the universe and realize what tremendous power it would take to create all this, it boggles my mind.  I just cannot begin to grasp His Greatness.  Then, when I consider that this Tremendously Powerful God that made all this can stoop to my level and involve Himself in my insignificant life and that He even wants to be involved in all the mundane matters of my life, I am struck with wonder and awe at this Amazing God.

I pray today that you will understand the Tremendous Love that Our Creator has for you.  Each and every one of you is precious to Him beyond what you will ever be able to completely understand.  He loves you so much that He gave the greatest gift that He could possibly give in order to purchase you back from sin.  He gave His Blessed Son Jesus to be sacrificed on the cross in order to cover our sins and allow Him in all His Purity to then be able to have fellowship in a personal way with each of us.  I pray that you will experience this wonderful fellowship with Him today.

I'm a retired soldier, having spent 23 years of my life serving our country, actually 30 years when you count the reserve and National Guard time as well.  I believe in servant leaders, following the example of our Lord, and I believe in giving back to the troops once one has attained a certain status or level of success in life.  But I also believe in fighting back against corruption and incompetence wherever you find it if it hurts people.  Our national values were worth dying for.  They are also worth living for.  A man or woman can actually live a life by these principles of humility, service, love, duty, and honor, and have a significant impact on the world around them...if you have the dedication to see it through.
